Day 3
The day started with a buffet breakfast in the hotel.... to my disappointment, it's not western fare but Chinese...... but nonetheless a filling meal..... ah... the porridge with marinated seaweed was excellent...... mmmhh *slurp, slurp*

Our first stop of the Shenzhen city tour was a jade museum... i learnt how to differentiate real jade from man-made jade and we also saw a natural piece of rock that glows in the dark... very fascinating...... Following that, we were bought into a room similar to the HK Jeweller Co...... yo! all the aunties, shout after me, 'Hooray!' ._.''' not the place for me....

The second stop was much better, The Window of the World, 世界之窗 (the biggest tourist attraction in Shenzhen) We had to pay S$50 for the entrance fee

Entrance to Window of the World

The first attraction that captures everyone attention is the replica of The Eiffel Tower of Paris followed by the Arc de Triomphe de l'Etoile..... and i saw the Merlion there too... haha

Arc de Triomphe de l'Etoile(front) The Eiffel Tower(back)

The mini Leaning Tower of Pisa

At Window of the World, there were lots of photo taking...... there is even a mini snow city, like the one in Batam.... it's just a really big room built to resemble a skiing site..... a fake slope and we had to tow big rubber tyres to the top and slide down...... i definitely had an adrenaline rush as i slid down the slope.... shiok!

The mini Louvre Museum of Paris

We finished the tour of the attraction in about 2hrs (come to think about it, not really worth our money)

After that was lunch.... 8 dishes and 1 soup..... a very hearty meal.....

The next stop is a place called Tian Gong Fang Treasury. Not a fantastic place..... They introduced us to several traditional Chinese herbs like the legendary Tian shan Xue Lian flower (in the classic Chinese epics, it's supposed to a miracle herb).... but I realised it's just fiction:p

We were then separated into pairs to see a Chinese physician..... The doctor was quite powerful.... one look at my palm, a feel of my pulse and a look at my tongue and she was able to tell me my medical problems....... all was fine until she prescribed some medication for me.... apoparently, she wanted me to purchase it there..... S$300!!! I was like..... "Woh! Hold it man!... I'm not going to buy it..." Then I made some stupid excuse and left the room..... That's what I dislike about tour groups.... they always bring you to these places where they try to fleece the tourists :(

Next and final stop: Splendid China and Chinese Cultural Village..... the attraction is self-explanatory just by looking at its name, therefore I shall not elaborate much... enjoy the pictures....

To be honest, the show was quite spectacular.... it was very well choreographed

Then back to the hotel we went...... Before ending the day, The Supreme...
The Supremes!! Mary Wilson, Florence Ballard, and Diana Ross

... took me down the Dangerous streets of Shenzhen in search for 2 postcards..... very scary leh.... then got this China girl kept asking me for money "I came to Shenzhen to look for job... haven't eaten the whole day....." and she kept following me leh..... SAVE ME!!!!!

Haha..... we didn't manae to find any postcards at the end of the day, so off to the hotel we went

Day 2
We had to check out at 7am cuz e tour guide would be picking us up at 7.15am for the half day Hong Kong city tour....
The tour started with breakfast in Wan Chai which we opted out (we had instant noodles in the hotel room before checking out).... while e rest were having their meals, we spent the time taking some random photos Typical Bamboo Scaffolding in HK
Random pics of Wan Chai

The next stop is the Golden Bauhinia Square. It is also the location of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), a venue for trade fairs, exhibitions and international conventions. The ceremony to mark Hong Kong's change of sovereignty took place here in 1997.

The Golden Bauhinia

The building behind the Golden Bauhinia is the HKCEC

Above is the picture of the HKCEC on the left and the tallest building in HK, IFC Tower 2 (88 storeys high), on the right.

Central, Hong Kong Island (pic taken from The Bauhinia Square)

After spending about 20min there, we went straight to the fishing village of HK, Aberdeen. During the journey there, we passed by the famous race course of Happy Valley. Sad to say, i didn't manage to get any pictures of that place.

Once we reached Aberdeen, we went on board a HK style sampan (for HK$50) to tour the fishing village. The first attraction we saw was the famous Jumbo Floating Restaurant.

The people there virtually lived on the boats...... n it's quite polluted..... not really an excellent sight.....

Along the way, we saw this floating past us.....

The boat was at most 1.5 times as big as our sampan...... and it looks totally dilapidated ._.'''
The entire journey took about 20min, and half the time i was deciphering wat the tour guide was talking about(he was speaking in Cantonese)......

After that, we proceeded to the Hong Kong Jewellery Company...... it's so boring..... just those regular places for the aunties in the group to waste their money....

The next stop is Repulse Bay

The beach was really clean.... but the water is not clear.... disappointing...... tonnes of people sun-tanning there. There's also a Chinese temple to the extreme left of the bay....by the way, the sun was scorching that day..... I didn't expect HK to be so hot...... I thought it would be cooler than S'pore.... it turned out to be no different....... So, i took out my umbrella and The Supreme said it was a very "auntie" behaviour.... I perspire very very easily can? that's why I needed that umbrella..... If i hadn't brought it out, I might need to buy a new shirt to replace my perspiration-soaked one.....

Next-stop: A Chinese herbal shop.... nothing interesting....

Finally, the HK half-day city tour has ended.... We will be making our way to Shenzhen, China via the KCR train at the Hung Hom KCR Station... The journey took about 45min but we took an hour plus to exit the custom due to some confusion..... Nonetheless, we were repaid by our 5 star hotel, Best Western Felicity Hotel....

Dinner followed.... it was a rather funny incident..... We were first served 3 big dishes of food with rice.... When we were done, we were already quite full and then came the 4th dish. Since we could still eat, we ate it thinking it was the last dish. Half-way through, they served the soup..... we were like, 'okay... this must be the last'...... to our utter horror, one more dish was served...... one M'sian lady at the table buay tahan already and decided to ask the waiter. Turns out we were only half-way there! ....meaning 4 more dishes! Everyone at the table looked exasperated... To add on to our shock, our tour guide , Mr Fang told us that this is the standard in Shenzhen and to expect the same thing throughout our stay.....hahaha

After dinner, The Supreme and I just walk around the Luo Wu Commercial City.... It's basically a shopping filled with fake Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and what have you..... nothing for me to buy there....

On the way back to the hotel, I found the best drink on earth from 大快活 Fairwood Fast food. It's the red bean freeze drink. It is made up of milk as the top layer and red-bean paste as the bottom and of course ice. It taste heavenly...... *mmhhh* yummy

This is the closest picture i can find of the Red-bean Freeze

Then, to slumberland we went!

Got many great photos coming up, so enjoy!

Day 1
I had my last tuition session on 06 May morning before setting off for the airport at abt 1.30pm.... Had my last Singapore luch there and checked in at 2.45pm.....
Our flight is CI 0666 at 1710h.... ETA at Hong Kong International airport is 2110h....

The dinner on board te flight was surprisingly nice.... I had Grilled Fish with rice and some funny vegetables together with usual side dishes.....

And very suay, I must mention this incident no matter wat..... My companion(a.k.a The-One-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named, or affectionately known as The Supreme)'s dear water bottle leaked Horribly (note the capital H) and wetted (and yes, there's such a word, i checked e dictionary) nearly all the bags in the bag compartment..... I felt like I was carrying a fish on my back while I made my way out of the arrival gate.....
Luckily i brought an extra bag...... ._.'''

Upon arrival, e the tour agency rep picked us up and sent us to our first hotel in Hong Kong.... Rambler Garden Hotel (a.k.a Ramly Burger Hotel as told by The Supreme :) in Tsing Yi.

That was a last minute hotel change..... We were supposed to be staying at Harbour View Intl House in Wan Chai Hong Kong, but apparently it was full. So we had to switch over to Rambler for e first night.... The hotel is in quite an ulu area, almost like Singapore's PSA area. It's surrounded by loads of cargo tanks... not a fantastic view but the hotel room is quite nice..... a minimalist design..... But it was quite eerie.... We were staying on the 29th floor, and somehow I felt we were the only ones on that level... eeks!

The first night was terrible..... couldn't sleep well... think i managed only 3 hours of sleep and Day 2 begins....

The recording that you are listening was from the American Idol 2006 results show..... His voice gave me goosebumps.... AMAZING!

"Andrea Bocelli, who was born in Lajatico, Italy, in 1958, is one of the greatest singing talents in the world today. Andrea has been blind since the age 12, owing to congenital glaucoma and a blow to the head while tending goal during a soccer game. Andrea did not begin his singing career until the late 1980s, when he began performing in piano bars throughout Italy. Before that time, he earned a law degree from the University of Pisa. In 1993, Bocelli was signed to a record contract after a scout heard him sing during a party. After he was signed, Bocelli began a magnificent career, teaming up with some of the best voices in the business. Andrea has worked with the likes of Pavarotti and Sarah Brightman, and has sung for the Pope. Perhaps Andrea's best-known hit is "Con Te Partirò (Time To Say Goodbye)", a duet with Sarah Brightman. Bocelli has also done a lot of work with the song "Vivo Per Lei," which means 'I Live For Her.' The song has been translated numerous times, and Bocelli has teamed up with various voice talents in several translations. He himself sings the Italian and Spanish versions, and sings in Italian on the French and German versions of the song. Hélène Ségara, Marta Sánchez, Sandy Leah Lima and Judy Weiss have all teamed with Bocelli on different versions of the song.Andrea has even worked with Céline Dion, teaming up with her for the song "The Prayer." Andrea is married and has two children, Amos and Matteo." - http://www.mystarlinks.com
