American Idol Top 11 Performance Review
First, What's up with that possessed little girl? She scares me.....
lol...hahahaha...
Anyway, here goes:
1. Melinda Doolittle - What else can I say? She's has proven herself once again why she deserves the American Idol title.... excellent vocal.... subtle and not too overpowering..... I like the new look! She looks so much younger...
2. Jordin Sparks - Excellent rendition of the song.... I second Simon's comments, she actually brought in a certain atmosphere to tat performance.... great!
3. Chris Richardson - I like how he toned it down this week.... not the best vocal but great stage prescence
4. Lakisha Jones - I really don't get the song.... it was just plain ODD... the entire look and the way she sang the song.... it was just out of place.... I can't put a word to it... nonetheless, one of the best voices
5. Blake Lewis - there was nothing spectacular about the performance... just plain ok... i don't think he needs to beat box every song.... it can be an overkill.... like how Ace Young overdid his falsetto last year(which wasn't tat great at all)....
6. Chris Sligh - nice vocals... but I don't see him connecting with the audience.... at least not with me... i just don't sense any star quality from him...
7. Haley Scarnato - I think she did well... at least she did leave an impression on me.....
8. Gina Glocksen - maybe it was the song, I don't noe.... she didn't leave an impression
9. Phil Stacey - He doesn't have the conviction and grit a rocker needs... so he couldn't "rock" the song... it was just weird watching him...
10. Stephanie - I'm very disappointed.... I noe she's a great singer and all.... but tonight, she was just all over the place with the pitch..... and I can't stand singers who can't sing in pitch....
11. Sanjaya Malakar - Weird, Weird, Weird! I was very tempted to put Stephanie here but then again, he made a rock song cute! eeks!.... but seriously it was his best "vocal" performance till date.... but just not good enough....

American Idol Top 12 Performance night review
1. Melinda - Wow! Another spectacular performance.... she Completely stole the limelight from the rest....
2. Lakisha - there was something very surreal about her performance..... i liked it....
3. Jordin - I thought she was done for if she's going to do another Disney song.... but she brought it down with the classic "If we hold on together".... very classy and elegant.... great vocals...

4. Chris Richardson - agred with Simon but he gave the show a jolt of energy when he performed...
5. Chris Sligh - i don't like him but the vocal was not bad....
6. Stephanie Edwards - it was okay but weird song...

8. Haley Scarnato - she did alright this week....
9. Blake Lewis - he totally butchered the classic song.... the arrangement was so messy.... and again, he din show off any vocals
10. Phil Stacey - uninspiring, not engaging, no emotions, shouting all the way....

American Idol 6 Top 12
This is my current ranking of this year's contestants.... my PREFERRED order..... not wat i think will happen though...
1. Winner: Melinda Doolittle - based solely on vocal prowess, she will take the title.... however, she needs to choose more contemporary or "younger" songs as her recent song choices make her look and sound kinda old-fashioned.....
2. Runner-up: Lakisha Jones - I would really like to see a fight between these 2 girls but I have a feeling Blake is going to be in the top 2.....*sigh*.... anyway, Lakisha has that big old diva voice, one of the best voices, no questions asked...... however, she falls into the league that i categorize as "Excellent voice, unrecognisable on radio" singers...... same as Latoya from season 3.... she just lacks that defining factor to her voice..... otherwise she's great.... p.s "I Have Nothing" is Super Overdone....
3. Jordin Sparks - I like her energy and voice.... great potential but nowhere near my top 2....
4. Gina Glocksen - she's only here as No. 4 because she completely blew me again last week with her version of "Call Me When You're Sober"..... it was really good..... if not for this performance, Stephanie would have been in this spot.....
5. Stephanie Edwards - ehh.... reminds me too much of Fantasia (looks) and Beyonce (voice).... great singer though.... needs to work on her own style.... too ordinary for my taste....
6. Chris Richardson - I know that he doesn't have the best voice...... but somehow I look forward to watching him perform.... he's a breath of fresh air and i like his energy
7. Blake Lewis - he's different.... nice to see him spice up the performance with his beatboxing.... but vocally he's not that strong..... it's going to take a lot more than beatboxing to win him the title... (but he'll have the girls' votes)
8. Chris Sligh - he has an okay voice..... but there's something about him that annoys me to no end.... just can't put a word to it....
9. Phil Stacey - Ok voice, ok looks, nothing special.... Next!
10. Brandon Rogers - he really has to start showing wat he, as the other back-up singer, is capable of..... his past performances were just blah to me.... tasteless and uninspiring.... the Dark Horse this year.... we shall see!
11. Haley Scarnato - like what Simon said, she failed to leave an impression....... maybe she should audition for musical roles..... her song choice last week was so "Do Re Mi".... dunno wat she was up to....
12. Sanjaya Malakar - Please Vote Him Off This Instant! His fans robbed 2 better singers (Sundance Head.... I really feel sad for him..... and Sabrina Sloan) by voting for him
The girls totally overshadow the guys.... the talent disparity is just too wide..... hope the right person wins this year (not like last year! Elliott or Chris should have won!)
