My Adventures in BusanDay 1
The trip to Busan was definitely eventful. The journey to Busan takes 2hours by the KTX and I booked an early train to maximize my time in Busan. My KTX train was scheduled to leave Daejeon station at 8.28am. Therefore, I had to leave KAIST at 7am. This is what the school looks like in the morning. Freezing cold can? I almost died trying to get to the nearest subway station…. It was that cold!
>
Anyway, the train departed on time(it always does, so never be late for your train in Korea).>
I reached Busan at 10.15am and I immediately transferred to the local subway bound for Seomyeon Station.>

My accommodations is located near Seimyeon Station. Being located on the 29th floor of a condominium, it is the “highest hostel in the world”. http://www.zenbackpackers.com/zenbackpackers.htm

After settling down, I made my way to the first destination, Beomeosa Temple.
It is located on the slopes of Geumjeong Mountain. I decided to take the hiking trail and took 2.5hours to complete the route. By the time I reached the cable car station to start the descent, my legs were already giving up on me.

Next, hahaha…. No pictures allowed! I went to the famous Dongnae(or Heosimcheong) Spa at NongShim hotel.
It is supposedly the largest hot spring fed spa in Asia and has enough room to accommodate 3000 people. There are many different types of baths in the spa area. http://www.hotelnongshim.com/eng/hurshimchung/hur_bath.asp
There are no pictures because it’s a Naked spa area! No worries, the male and female areas are separated. It was very awkward in the beginning. I paid for a locker key at the front counter and proceeded to the dressing room to change. I had initially thought that we would be given bathrobes to walk around in. But no, we were supposed to strip in the dressing room and everything after that would be done Totally Naked! I was so embarrassed and spent quite a while in the dressing room before I could muster the courage to walk out into the spa area. Once I got out, I could see hundreds of naked guys in the spa area…. So strange!! Hahaha… but after a while, I got used to it. I think that it’s the same at nude beaches. It’s a very natural process for them. The most difficult part is overcoming your own embarrassment. Now I understand why the KAIST guys in my dormitory block seem so open about nudity. I always go into the bathroom(no covered cubicles) to find a few guys staring at me totally naked.
I don’t even get the chance NOT to look at them cuz they are facing me as I enter the bathroom. Hehe so I was wondering why they always face the bathroom door when they shower instead of turning around….. Now I understand…..
Haha enough of that. Next, I went to the last destination of the day, Gwangan Beach which boasts the full view of the Gwangan Bridge. It’s really beautiful at night….

Day 2
I checked-out early in the morning and set off for Jagalchi Fish Market, another highlight of Busan. Over there, you can see all kinds of seafood.

After that, I visited Busan Tower.

Lastly, I visited Haeundae Beach
